(One of) The Happiest Places in the World? Disney? No the other "D"- Denmark.

Last but not least country 3 of my European Birthday trip. 24 hours in one of the Happiest Places in the World. The land of Ariel and Hans Christian Anderson and most importantly, Delicious Danishes. I really only wanted to go because of danishes. I wanted to eat Danishes with the Danes. SO I DID. I knew prior to this trip I wanted to spend my actual birthday alone. I knew that I would be spending 3 days with my line sister in London, and then three 3 days with some more sorority sisters in Sweden. As social as people think I am, I needed time by myself.

Originally I was going to Norway, because it was close to Sweden but I couldn't find much to do, so I decided against it. Back to Google Flights, I went. That is when I learned that Norway was Sweden's neigbor to the left, but Demark is the neigbor to the South. Denmark was perfect. In fact there is a train from Copenhagen to Stockholm. I wasn't taking it but it was good to know it existed.

When I arrived at CPH, I grabbed my bags and headed to the train station. In Europe, I really try not to catch ubers unless its really late/early as European countries. In case I didn't catch an uber because the closest car was 15 minutes away and the train ride was only 20 minutes. The nice Danish man at the kiosk, helped me figure out the ticket to purchase and I hopped on the M2 -Vanløse st. (Metro) , rode to Christianshavn, and transfered to the (M1Vestamager st.) and rode to my stop at Bella Center. I could see my hotel from the train when we pulled into the stop.

First let me say AC Hotel Bella Sky Copenhagen- 5 stars. If and when I go back to Copenhagen, after I stay one night at Manon Les Suites, I am staying here. The simplistic clean design, that I have come to enjoy about Scandinavian architecture and interior design, (IE Ikea but WEALTH) was prevalent. The modern hotel rooms with pillowtop bedding, floor-to-ceiling windows were gorgeous. 76 meters (250 feet for us Americans) above ground at the 23rd floor of AC Hotel Bella Sky Copenhagen sits the restaurant SUKAIBA. The property also has additional restaurants Restaurant BASALT, BM Breakfast Restaurant and a lounge in the lobby area. Overall there was a plethora of food options on property, but of course I was there for 2 things. None of which were at the hotel; Aire Aincient Bath and some Danishes.

Back in 2022, I came across a FB post of this beautiful spa experience, I did some googling and discovered "Aire Ancient Baths." Inspired by the tradition of baths from ancient Roman, Greek and Ottoman civilizations, the AIRE Experience always takes place in restored historical buildings in the center of cities. In the Carlsberg Byen district, the former Carlsberg factory serves as the home of this Spa. Although cameras are not allowed in the facility, there are 6 thermal baths (hot bath, ice bath and cold plunges, warm bath, salt bath, and jet bath) as well as steam rooms at different steam intensity with aromatherapy. There is also salt exfoliation area and let me tell you after a good massage and salt scrub, I was good to go. I went back to my hotel to get ready for dinner, and accidentally fell alseep. I woke up at midnight, and missed my reservation. But I was okay with it, that massage felt just that great.

The next day before my flight to meet my friends in Swedem I walked around Copenhagen with my danish. I did not have time to book a tour. But I am Bree, I am going to make something shake. Searching online I found a walking guide on the app Questo "Magical Copenhagen: Little Mermaid." and I set out to see the city. This tour was cute snapshot history lesson about the Little Mermaid and you will see the Amalienborg Palace, The House of Hans Christian Andersen, The Little Mermaid Statue (the main event), all together there are 11 stops. The walking tour took about an hour and I must say, The Little Mermaid statue is them most underwhelming statue I have seen in my life. But that Danish was delicious.

Overall, from what I saw Copenhagen was cool. The black population is practically nonexistent but I didn't feel like I stood out.
