“If I Don’t Like Beer in Prague, I Won’t Like It at All”: My Honest Review of Beer Spa Beerland

Let’s start with the obvious:
I do not like beer.
Not a fan. Never have been. People have handed me citrus IPAs, chocolate stouts, pineapple sours — all with the same hopeful look, like this one will finally convert me. And yet, every single time, my taste buds scream the same thing:
“This tastes like wet bread.”
Still, I kept hearing that Prague — the land of legendary lagers and proud beer history — would change me. “Beer in Prague is different!” they said. “You haven’t really had beer until you’ve had it there.”
So I gave Prague one last shot to win me over — by literally bathing in the stuff.

A post-soak rest on a bed of real wheat straw beside a cozy fireplace
Fresh, homemade beer bread
A complimentary taste of tank lager at the beer fountain in reception (0.3L before and after)
(Optional with sauna package) A cedar sauna infused with hop essence and an icy cool-down zone with oak buckets and ice chips
Cost- Beer Bath for 1 person in one oak tub for 1 hour- 98 Euro/110 USD. PreBooking Online Required.
The ingredients in the bath — brewer’s yeast, malt, hops, and oak — are said to detox the body, revitalize your skin, and promote deep relaxation. And to their credit, it did feel soothing. But more on that in a second.
Yes, There’s a Shower — You Won’t Leave Smelling Like a Brewery
I booked the room that included a private shower, and I highly recommend doing the same. After soaking in a tub full of hops and malt, the last thing you want is to wander Prague smelling like a freshly brewed batch of Pilsner. So don’t worry — you can rinse off, freshen up, and leave the spa smelling like your favorite shampoo instead of a bar mat.
My Experience: Hot Tub, But Make It… Beer
After a warm welcome and a small tank beer to start (which yes, still tasted like carbonated sourdough water), I was led to my private room. The centerpiece: a massive, bubbling oak tub filled with beer bathwater. On the side? My very own beer tap.
I climbed in, inhaled the herbal, bready steam, and tried to feel the magic.
Honestly? The bath was the highlight. The water felt rich and nourishing, and it left my skin soft and smooth. The combo of heat, hops, and the deep wood tub had me nearly dozing off.
But then came the moment of truth. I poured myself a full mug, gave Prague its final chance to wow me, took a sip…
Still tastes like wet bread.
Even soaking in it didn’t make it better.
After the bath, I curled up on the straw bed (which sounds scratchy, but was surprisingly comfortable), warmed myself by the fireplace, and enjoyed a slice of the homemade beer bread — the best part of the whole experience. It was warm, hearty, and didn’t taste like it had been left out in the rain.
Final Verdict: I Gave It My All, Prague
I came to the beer capital of the world. I bathed in it. I drank it from a tap. I got beer on my skin, in my pores, and practically in my soul.
And still?
Beer is not for me.
Not even here. Not even now. Not even with a spa soundtrack and soft lighting.
But I don’t regret it for a second.
Beer Spa Beerland is quirky, immersive, and such a fun travel story. If you love beer, you’ll be in heaven. If you don’t, you’ll get soft skin, warm carbs, and the satisfaction of finally settling the debate.
Would I recommend it?
Yes — if only for the novelty. Just don’t expect a personality transplant via hops.
