Budget airlines: Low Cost Airlines that will get you around the country.

Who doesn't love a budget? I love a good deal, and as I said in my previous blog: I do not care how I get there as long as I arrive alive. So if you are dedicated to a specific airline: please save yourself time and stop reading. However while planning my 30 before 30 lineup for 2023, I came across some airlines I had never heard about. So I did my Googles and I learned that within the US we have a variety of budget carriers (think Spirit and Frontier but 8-10 more). So now that I know they exist, as the self proclaimed travel cousin it is my job to put you on. There's no need to spend money on a major carrier, if you do not have the money to do so OR you do not want to. An additional perk, these carriers tend to fly into smaller airports, saving you time if you do not live in close proximity to a large one or the city you want to visit is not close. While I haven't flown them all, I have flown enough to know: READ BEFORE PURCHASING YOUR TICKET. Do not be that person who did not read the site, now you at the airport mad because you have to pay for something that was not included. I dislike those people, do not be like them, they make me itch. rt.

What makes an airline “low-cost” is really low overhead, not necessarily low cost for passengers. Translation- there are no extras included so you basically pay for your seat and a personal item, that's it. These reduce costs can mean lower airfare for customers, at times. However, please note that a low-cost airline isn’t always guaranteed to have better prices, which is to be expected. I do not mind sitting in a seat that doesn’t recline, get water or have a back seat pocket. These newer —“ultra-low-cost” carriers (ULCC) are some of my personal favorites, but I have my travel down to a science. I acknowledge they are not for everyone. So while I am able to deal with not having some amenities, if that means I can save some money I will. But I understand that with budget carriers travelers may not be very comfortable, but they won't pay much.

Here are 10 of the Low Budget Carriers we have in the US. Check them out as they have hubs at many of the major airports in the US.

  • Frontier Airlines

  • Southwest

  • JetBlue

  • Sun Country Airlines

  • Spirit Airlines

  • Hawaiian Airlines

  • Allegiant Air

  • Alaska Airlines

  • United Airlines

  • Breeze Airways

  • Avelo Airlines

  • Northern Pacific Airways

These flight carriers as low cost airlines have expanded their customer base with the increasing competition in the aviation sector. They service more domestic routes over worldwide ones to reduce expenses. You can visit more places faster and cheaper than ever before, allowing you to see the smaller cities, that are often overlooked by the major airlines. These low-cost carriers cut their expenses in the form of less luxurious travel and the fulfillment of necessities during the flight. Their staff is less in number and are trained for multi-tasking. These low-cost carriers are approved by the aviation authorities and fulfill all the requirements of safe flight, so do not let anybody tell you these companies are not safe to fly with.
